How to use your motorhome cab: Peugeot

If you’ve recently purchased a Bailey motorhome based on a Peugeot chassis, this guide covers some key features to get you started. A complete list can be found in the supplied Peugeot handbook. Here's what you need to know: inside, outside, or under the bonnet.

The Outside of the Cab

The cab and habitation doors can be locked and unlocked using the key fob, either by pressing the relevant button or inserting the key into the lock. If using the fob, the top button unlocks the cab, the bottom button unlocks the habitation door, and the middle button locks all doors. The same key fits the ignition and the diesel filler cap.

To fill with diesel or Ablue:

  • Open the fuel filler flap (on the nearside, just behind the passenger door) and unlock the cap with the key.
  • Open the fuel filler flap (as above) and twist the Adblue cap anticlockwise to remove it. This cap isn’t lockable.

Checking the Levels

  • The bonnet release is located at the end of the dashboard, behind the nearside (passenger side) door.
  • Once the bonnet is released, the catch is at the centre of the bonnet, just below the Peugeot badge.
  • Oil level. The dipstick is in the centre and has a red cap. Remove, wipe, and re-dip in the traditional manner. The oil filler point is to the left of the dipstick and has a yellow oil symbol on top of the cap.
  • The windscreen washer bottle is to your left if you stand in front of the bonnet and look into the engine bay. The cap is marked with a windscreen wiper symbol and is lifted from the bottle before filling with screen wash.

Seating

In the cab, the seats have two modes – lounge mode and driving mode. Both seats are fully adjustable and feature twin armrests. They can be moved forwards or backwards using the bar under the front of the seat, and the backrest angle can be altered using the knurled wheel at the base. To use the seats in lounge mode, pull the bar at the side of the base and rotate the seat unit. Please remember that both seats must be returned and locked in the forward-facing position before driving.

Blinds and Skylight

All three cab windows are fitted with opaque night blinds for privacy. These can be released from the frame by pinching the catch with your fingers before gently pulling the blinds into the night position. They can be re-opened in the same way.

Above the front seats is a skylight that provides additional light for the motorhome cab. When stationary, the catches can be released, and the skylight pushed open. It can be locked in the open position by tightening the plastic nuts on the window hinge bars. Please ensure that the skylight is firmly closed before driving. The skylight is also fitted with a flyscreen and night blind.
