Charity & Community Partnerships
To date the committee have pledged and raised over £285,000, all with the aim of either supporting local causes to the areas we work in, or projects that focus on improving the environment or sustainability. Through the committee we have also set up sponsorship programmes for our employees – allowing everyone the chance to raise money for causes close to their heart knowing that Bailey will match fund up to £500.
Our charitable fund focuses on:

Key Charity Partnerships for 2025
Each year we sponsor chosen Charity Partners who will be the main beneficiaries of our charitable fund. Our charity partnerships give us the opportunity to help people when they need it most. Alongside our donations we carry out internal fundraising activity and events for each of the charities throughout the year. Where possible we also look to provide volunteering opportunities for any of our employees who would like to be involved.
Penny Brohn UK
Our charity partner for the second year running was Penny Brohn UK who are a cancer health and wellbeing charity located on the outskirts of Bristol. They help people feel better in mind, body and spirit by offering everybody with cancer a choice of personalised cancer care.
In March we donated sausage rolls and slices of cake to Penny Brohn UK’s Family Easter Egg Hunt. The event was a great success and raised over £3800 with 300 children taking part.
In May a group from our HR & Marketing Teams took part in the Bristol 10K on behalf of the charity and raised over £1100!
In December we sponsored Penny Brohn’s Christmas Concert which featured special performances from talented local choirs and musicians.
We’ve been incredibly proud to support this fantastic organisation once again through a variety of fundraising activities. We have encouraged as many of our employees as possible to get involved in helping raise awareness of the vital work Penny Brohn UK does.
Suicide Prevention UK
In 2024, one of our Committee members organised a charity football match between Bailey employees to raise money for Suicide Prevention UK. The event was such a success that it was held again in 2025 and will now become a permanent fixture in the Bailey annual calendar.
Our Charity & Community Committee generously donated funds to cover the costs of refreshments, raffle prizes, t-shirts and water bottles, while additional raffle prizes were kindly donated by local companies and organisations.
Thanks to everyone’s generosity and support, the event raised over £1,600 for the charity. As well as raising vital funds, it showcased the strong sense of community, teamwork and togetherness that exists across our employees.
Our Community Partners
BS3 Community Charity
BS3 Community Charity run the Bedminster Food Club close to our South Bristol Production Facility, and they help supply local families and individuals with fresh and tinned food.
We have made a number of donations to the charity since our charitable fund was set up helping them secure extra food and activity packs for children during the school holidays as well as during the winter periods. We have also helped fund a Craft and Cooking Session for their Food Club members.
We recently also donated a Bleed Kit to them so it can be located within their centre which can be easily accessed by the local community.
Merchants Academy School, South Bristol
As part of our sponsorship of the British Heart Foundation in 2023 we donated an AED – Automated External Defibrillator to a South Bristol secondary school – Merchants Academy. They have located the AED in their Sports Centre which is open 7 days a week and hosts both school and community events.
We also donated a Bleed Kit to them which they have also installed in their Sports Centre so it can support the school and the wider community.
Young Shipwrights Workshops
The workshops involve Year 6 children working in small teams to build and decorate their own cardboard boat, which are launched at the Bristol Harbour Festival Young Shipwrights Annual Boat Race each year.
A group of Bailey volunteers are there to explain what we do in our job roles and assist them when they need help making their boats. We typically sponsor 120 children from a local primary school over two days.
PROPS
PROPS supports adults with learning disabilities to achieve their full potential in their community by providing practical learning, skills development and worthwhile accessible work-based experiences.
Based in Bristol, PROPS provides day opportunities for 49 weeks of the year and also runs a fleet of minibuses to pick up and drop off trainees who access the services.
Each year we sponsor and participate in their Bristol to Bordeaux Cycle Challenge. Over four days the Bailey Team, alongside many others, cycle 500 miles from Bailey HQ to Bordeaux in support of the charity.
Employee Fund
Our Colleagues in the Community
The Employee Fund is a sponsorship programme for our employees where they can apply for a donation for a charity which is meaningful to them, sponsorship of a sports team or money towards a school or community event.
We have approved many applications including sponsoring gymnastic, hockey, cheerleading and American football sports teams, school summer fayres and a variety of charities.
Matched Funding
The Employee Fund also offers matched funding up to £500 for any of our employees looking to raise money for a charity by taking part in an event or activity.
Volunteering
Clevedon Beach Clean
As part of the Great British Beach Clean awareness week in September, the Committee took some time out to carry out a Beach Clean in Clevedon, which is close to our Large Panel Laminating Plant in North Somerset. The team had a very productive morning scouring the three beaches for any litter and debris which could be harmful for any people or wildlife using the beaches or the water.
