What does campervan layout mean?

The day and night layouts of the Endeavour B64, including the bed in the pop-top

A campervan layout refers to how every area inside your van is arranged. This covers everything from where you sleep, wash, cook and dine to where you store your essentials. It’s a bit like a building’s blueprint, and it defines how your space feels and functions on the road.

A well-designed layout makes life simpler, because it gives you just the right amount of space in every zone.

In the Bailey Endeavour range, each model’s interior layout has been designed to get just the right balance between being comfortable, practical and easy to use.

All Endeavours feature:

  • A fully equipped kitchen with a Thetford oven, grill and 3-burner hob, plus an 84L compressor fridge.
  • A washroom with a built-in shower, toilet and sink.
  • Storage areas such as overhead lockers and compartments under bed or lounge areas

Every detail of the layout is designed to feel intuitive, so that when you need something, it’s usually in the first place you’d look for it.

What campervan interior layouts do Bailey of Bristol offer?

At Bailey of Bristol, we offer four campervan interior layouts in our Endeavour range, focusing on medium-sized campervans built on the Ford Transit panel van.

The Endeavour B62

The Endeavour B62 is a two-berth campervan with two designated travel seats, which means it’s ideal for couples or solo adventurers. The flexible rear lounge can be arranged as parallel seating or a U-shaped layout, converting easily into a double bed or two singles.

Designed with a front lounge and a little more kitchen space, the Endeavour B63 offers two berths and two travel seats in the same Ford Transit body.

It features a front lounge layout making it different to the B62, and it comes with extended kitchen workspace and a little bit more storage.

Once again a great option for couples who don’t want to sleep in a pop-top and will be travelling as just the two of them.

The Endeavour B64

The Endeavour B64 is a versatile four-berth model that builds on the features of the two-berth Endurance models with a pop-top roof containing a high-level double bed.

Inside, the front flexi-lounge includes twin Aguti travel seats with three-point seatbelts and ISOFIX fittings for family travel.

The lounge can convert into two single beds and there are four travel seats in total.

The Endeavour B65

The one of the newest members of the Endeavour family is the B65. It gives you four berths and four travel seats, making it an excellent choice for families or longer touring adventures. It shares the pop-top roof of the B64 containing a double bed but adds:

  • A front dinette at the front and a large double bed at the rear.
  • A large storage area at the rear with a lot of cubby holes to store smaller items, and a gangway for bulkier things (like bikes or paddleboards).

Why is a campervan’s layout important?

The layout of a campervan significantly impacts your comfort, its functionality, and overall experience. A great van layout makes the difference regarding:

  • Efficient use of space for sleeping, cooking, dining, and storage
  • Easy movement within the van without feeling cramped
  • Ergonomic placement of furniture and amenities for comfortable living
  • The ability to adapt to various needs, from daily routines to weather changes

Ultimately, a thoughtfully planned camper van layout enhances the quality of life on the road, making the journey more enjoyable and comfortable for you and your family.

What are the typical zones of a campervan?

Campervan layouts can vary, but there are typical zones that serve specific purposes:

  • Sleeping: This can be a fixed bed (rear, side, pop-top roof) or convertible furniture (dinette or sofa converting to a bed). Bed types can include double beds, single beds and bunk beds.
  • Kitchen: This usually includes a countertop, sink, stove, oven and storage. While some layouts might have a fixed cabinet kitchen, others might have compact, foldable units.
  • Washroom (wet room): This is a dedicated space with amenities like a toilet, enclosed shower, basin, mirror and medicine cabinet. The Bailey Endeavour range includes a washroom but not all campervans will have this feature.
  • Lounge/Dining: This area might have benches, swivel seats, or seating that converts to a bed. This zone can be flexible depending on the layout.
  • Storage: Cabinets, shelves, and compartments throughout the van are essential for keeping gear organised.
