Its certification confirms that every Bailey leisure vehicle has passed independent checks for build quality, electrical and gas systems, fire safety, and environmental compliance.

In addition, all Bailey caravans, motorhomes, and campervans hold Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA), confirming that they meet all directives governing road vehicle design and construction.

NCC testing is carried out quarterly, as well as for all new product developments before they enter production. In addition, the NCC conducts random inspections throughout the year to ensure standards are consistently maintained. In 2025, three unannounced inspections were conducted outside of the scheduled testing programme.

During an NCC inspection the vehicle is subject to between 500 and 600 individual checks, focusing on four key areas:

• Gas and electrical systems – making sure installations are tested, secure, and fit for purpose
• Habitation Area – verifying escape routes and ventilation
• Appliance safety to ensure all fitted appliances are suitable and correctly installed
• Type Approval (for motorised vehicles only) – confirming compliance with road safety legislation

Gas system safety is a particular priority for all leisure vehicles. Every gas locker is aluminium-lined, has drop out holes for ventilation, and securely supported with gas-tight seals, a level of protection that goes beyond requirements commonly seen in European leisure vehicles that are imported into the UK.
