Bailey of Bristol, in association with The Caravan and Motorhome Club, is to embark on a new 5,000-mile intercontinental caravan and motorhome adventure in April.
This time the company will be taking two caravans (a Pursuit 550-4 and Pegasus GT70 Rimini) and one motorhome (an Advance 76-4) from the company’s South Bristol production facility, across Europe, over the Bosphorus strait in Turkey and into Asia as far as the coast of the Black Sea and then back again. In total, this marathon journey will take 21 days and will see the team visit 21 countries in the process, taking in some of Europe’s most spectacular landscapes and iconic locations on the way.
As with all Bailey leisure vehicles the ‘Bristol to the Bosphorus’ caravans and motorhome are built using the company’s patented Alu-Tech body shell construction system. This award winning technology creates vehicles that are more robust, more durable and yet lighter than those manufactured using conventional methods to keep owners comfortable, safe and secure all year round. To date over 50,000 Bailey caravans and motorhomes have been built using this method and are currently being enjoyed all over the world.
This latest long-distance endurance test follows two similar journeys taken with Bailey leisure vehicles in recent years:
West to East Challenge 2015 3,500 miles from the west coast to the east coast of Australia through the centre of the country with two Bailey Alu-Tech caravans.
Arctic Adventure 2017 5,000 miles from the UK to Northern Finland inside the Arctic Circle and back with two Bailey Alu-Tech caravans and one motorhome.
This time round the vehicles will driven by, amongst others: Simon Howard (Marketing Director, Bailey of Bristol), Nick Lomas (Director General The Caravan & Motorhome Club), Lee Davey (Freelance Journalist & Bailey Brand Ambassador), Ryan Philpott (Presenter & Bailey Brand Ambassador) & Martin Fitzpatrick (Managing Director Truma UK). Throughout the journey, the core team will be also joined by a wide range of guests including media representatives from both the Food and Travel industries.
Talking about the forthcoming trip Bailey Marketing Director Simon Howard, said:

Commenting on The Caravan and Motorhome Club’s involvement Director General Nick Lomas said: “Whether people want to travel 5,000 miles or 50 miles, the Club is here to provide support, offer advice, guidance and also to inspire people to try different locations and cultures. We are very proud to be supporting this latest adventure and I am hugely excited to be joining the tour for five days when we will be visiting different countries.”
