Bailey Christmas Jumper Journey

The Bailey Bear is quite possibly the best travelled bear in the Nation. This Christmas we sent him further afield on a very special mission to Lapland. On the way, he's raised more than £1,200 for charity.

Thank you all for your support over the last few weeks on the Bailey Christmas Jumper Journey campaign. We have made and sold more than 60 jumpers and dozens of crochet patterns and achieved £225 with The Bailey Bear charity auction on eBay. This, along with Bailey’s contribution, have helped us raise £1,253.50 so far, which will be distributed to the chosen charities as voted by you:

  • Macmillian Cancer Support – 52.9%
  • Shelter – 19.1%
  • Barnardo’s – 14.7%
  • OTR (Off The Record) – 13.2%

Our team of volunteers have continued working tirelessly to meet the demand, so there are a few final jumpers available in the PRIMA leisure store. If you have not managed to get your hands on one, hurry!

And please remember that 100% of all money raised through the Christmas campaign is going directly to the four chosen charities above.

The Bailey Bear Christmas Jumper

This handmade crochet Christmas jumper has been made specially for The Bailey Bear by a group of Bailey volunteers, friends and family. Each jumper is unique and can also be hung by the hanging loop as a Christmas decoration.

If you would like to get hold of one, there are limited quantities for sale at PRIMA Leisure. And if you would like to make your own, you can now buy the crochet pattern too, with all proceeds going to charity.

Where is The Bailey Bear?

The Bailey Bear has now reached Santa’s Grotto in Lapland. Thanks to everyone who followed The Bailey Bear journey on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

The Bailey Crochet Group

A group of Bailey volunteers, friends and family are behind the The Bailey Bear Christmas jumpers.

At home or with the Bailey Crochet Group, volunteers from all departments have helped to create these unique pieces and raise money for charity. For every jumper made, Bailey is making a donation.

The Bailey Crochet Group ran every Friday in November and proved very popular both for experienced crocheters and beginners.

We also received lots of help from the University of Bristol Knitting Society, who have made some jumpers for the Bear and have helped us raise money for charity.

Bid for The Bailey Bear on eBay
