The new Bailey Unicorn range has secured a hat-trick of titles at this year’s Practical Caravan Magazine’s Tourer of the Year awards. The Unicorn Cabrera claimed the Best tourer for couples’ title and the Unicorn Seville was highly recommended in the same category.
The new Unicorn Segovia was also received the ‘Best tourer for large families’ award, whilst overall Unicorn design quality was recognized with the presentation of the Best Innovation award for its unique USB ‘sockets with pockets’. There was commendation too for the Pursuit 570-6 (‘Best tourer for small families’ category) and Pursuit 400-2 (‘Best budget tourer’ category) highlighting the overall appeal of the entire Bailey caravan portfolio.
In praising the Unicorn Cabrera, Practical Caravan Magazine Editor Niall Hampton said:
"A revamp both inside and out has improved the look and functionality of the Cabrera, while inside a larger lounge, a central washroom and innovation in the shape of a hinged bed end give more space and added privacy. This is a van that delivers on all fronts – build, comfort and styling."
Whilst of the Unicorn Segovia he expressed the following equally positive opinion:
"It can be difficult to innovate in tried-and-tested layouts, but with the Segovia Bailey has done just that. By adding a fashionable centre-washroom, it has created something you can’t find anywhere else: a caravan that offers true privacy for both parents and children. It might have taken Bailey a while to consider families with its flagship range, but its first six-berth Unicorn is a triumph.”
With Unicorn firmly established as the UK’s most popular premium caravan range, the development of the fourth generation of this proven best-seller was not a task to be taken lightly. The process took eighteen months to complete, included input from both customer and retailer product focus groups as well as both accelerated life track and cold chamber testing. The resulting vehicles represent a real step forward in Bailey caravan design with the dramatic new looks both inside and out really setting it apart from previous Unicorn incarnations. Add to that improved layout execution and choice, enhanced specification levels, accessible unladen weights and a competitive retail price and it is easy to see why the new Bailey Unicorn is already receiving the plaudits from press and public alike.
Commenting on the receipt of these coveted awards Bailey of Bristol Managing Director Nick Howard said:
“Naturally we are delighted that our new Unicorn range has received this award recognition from such a respected source, and it is testimony to the amount of work that has gone into the development of the fourth-generation models”
“We would like to congratulate everybody involved, including our focus group members, for their contribution to this success” he added
All ten models of the new Unicorn range, including the award-winning Cabrera and Segovia, will be on display for the first time on stand 19-29 at the forthcoming Motorhome & Caravan Show 2017 from Tuesday 17th – Sunday 22nd October.
