With the trip to Spain drawing ever closer we were starting to feel a little apprehensive. Not regarding travelling with the Pegasus Grande Palermo but more so with the prospect of a 2,000 mile trips with three kids in tow! Our strategy, therefore, was to divide and conquer. The girls in the back with myself in-between and Finn riding shot gun with Andy.

We boarded the ferry from Helsinki and opted for a dog friendly cabin, as we don't like to leave the two dogs on the car decks. As it's a two-hour crossing, the cabin was well worth the extra €28 as it came with a clean shower cubicle and the settees converted to beds if we fancied a nap.
Not only was this a logical route from Scandinavia to Eastern Europe, but ever since we watched Jane McDonald's cruising program, we had a desire to visit Tallinn, the capital of Estonia.
12th November 2019
My Grandpa always told me, “Proper planning prevents poor performance”. And when embarking on our summer 2019 motorhome tour across 6 European countries, his sound advice set us in good stead.
Last year we, the Philpott family, aka the Overnighters, took our first European motorhome adventure down to the South of France in our Bailey of Bristol Advance 76-4. But this year we fancied a more epic road trip and after much family discussion we settled on Croatia on the Adriatic Coast as our final destination.
5th November 2019
A fine and chilly day dawned early in September when I (Zoe, aka @letsgoanddofunstuff) and my sidekick - Wanda the Wonder Pup - set off out of Bristol heading for the Brecon Beacons in the comfort of a snazzy Bailey of Bristol Alliance 59-2 motorhome. We were armed with kitchen cupboards full of tea and biscuits and a plan to go and do fun stuff with fun people in fun places.

For those of you who have followed our last blog, TourerFest19 (TF19) was bolted onto the back of our trip to the Jurassic Coast. Excitedly, we packed up the Pegasus Grande Palermo full of anticipation for the adventures ahead. Clothes, bedding, entertainment and food for four packed in and ready to go. I even managed to adjust the shelving in the fridge, enabling me to make the most of its 48 litres, even down to putting bottles in the door whilst still being able to shut it!
17th September 2019
Our sizzling summer holiday took us on a tour of Switzerland, via France, in scorching hot July, so the roll-out awning on the Autograph 75-4 was worth its weight in gold as we spent so much time outside and needed some shade.

In July we were fortunate to be offered the loan of a caravan from Bailey of Bristol to give us the opportunity to test it out, especially for me on the cooking front.
In 2018 I was one of the twelve amateur bakers to be selected as contestants on The Great British Bake Off. As much as I love to bake, I love to cook too, especially when I am away on holiday.
20th August 2019
Awnings are everywhere. Most tend to be attached to caravans or small campers. You are less likely to see one on motorhome and up until now, we had no experience of one.
7th August 2019
Bodies of water are proven to have a calming effect on us humans and various studies have been conducted to uncover the magical properties of this ‘blue mind’ phenomenon.
As a family, we often find ourselves pitching the Phoenix 760 close to rivers, lakes or the coast, and whether this is pure coincidence or my subconscious trying to keep the kids in check, I’m happy to reap the rewards.

School trips introduced me to kayaking and I have hazy, ice-cold memories of being submerged in water that felt perilously close to becoming a solid.
Fast forward a decade or two, casting thoughts of sub-zero temperatures aside, I got back in the ‘saddle’ when we bought a caravan and wanted something to accompany us on trips to the coast.
19th June 2019

With Britain being a relatively small country, having one of the world’s longest footpaths may seem like a playground boast. However, National Trails, Wales Coast Path and The Scottish Coastal Way are planning to link a multitude of footpaths that follow our jagged coastline, and if the proposed 2020 deadline is adhered to, we could have almost 2,800 miles of coastal paths to enjoy.

One of the things about owning a motorhome is the freedom you just wouldn’t get from a package holiday… it’s about being able to go wherever (and whenever) you want.
This is why people venture south to the Mediterranean for some winter sun.
21st December 2018
When most of us think of motor-homing we picture warm sunny days with hours of daylight and alfresco living. Beach days, country walks, sitting with a glass of vino watching the sun go down.
But what of motor-homing during the winter months? Is it all dark evenings and chilly wash-blocks? Or are there upsides to out of season van exploration?
18th December 2018
Although a lot of people tuck their caravans up for winter, these days they are built so well that there is no reason not to go exploring all through the year, and with Christmas just around the corner we were looking forward to escaping for some festive fun.

As we’re on a 21-day trip, we’re taking quite a bit of kit and as varying temperatures are predicted, we have a surprising amount of clothes, due in part to the campsites on the outer edges of our #Bristanbul trip having no laundry facilities.
23rd April 2018
Our Bristanbul crew knew we were staying at a diverse variety of campsites during the trip. Each site was chosen because of its location, availability (ahead of the peak season) and needed to have other accommodation available, as there were more crew than spaces available in the caravans or motorhome.

Presenting the Arctic Adventure cinematic highlights
25th March 2017
I have been feeling very restless since we got back from the awesome experience of the Arctic Adventure. The planning and preparations have been a big part of my life over the last few months, so it’s a bit strange now it is all over.
17th March 2017
During the planning phase of the #ArcticAdventure, the conversation was understandably dominated by the most northerly point on our expedition map – Ivalo, Finland. The journey through the UK, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia was our caravanning version of scaling Mount Everest with Test World, Ivalo, being our summit.
16th March 2017
The Arctic Circle might not be the obvious choice for a caravanning holiday but as we pulled into Ranua Zoo Camping - some 50-miles south of the Arctic ‘border’ and heavily laden with snow - it proved that a caravan doesn’t mind where you take it as long as it’s helping you chase your dreams.
15th March 2017
Before the Bailey of Bristol ‘Arctic Adventure’, my ice road experience was limited to re-runs of Ice Road Truckers on the TV but our route to Ivalo, Finland gave us the opportunity to take to the ice with a caravan in tow.
14th March 2017
The Test World proving ground 300km north of the Arctic Circle in Lapland had never had a caravan or motorhome on its test tracks before we rolled in 2,700 miles after starting our Arctic Adventure from its sister site, the Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire.
13th March 2017
Of all the words in the English dictionary, this one sums-up the roads between the UK and Tallinn, Estonia the best. Our route from Millbrook, Bedfordshire to the Eurotunnel took in the delights of the M25 but flashbacks of commuter ring-road hell were soon quashed thanks to Belgium’s empty roads.
1st March 2017
Planning a holiday, and then looking forward to it, is all part of the fun, right? Well, planning for the Arctic Adventure was even more fun than usual.

12th December 2017
It was like a military operation. The dining table was the Strategy Room, strewn with maps and road atlases. Operation Rovaniemi was charted. There was a tangible buzz of activity – finally this was getting off the ground but we needed to act fast and get our initial plans (made before we had a Bailey of Bristol motorhome to travel in) firmed up.

The Golden Years Charity Film Premiere, in aid of the Born Free Foundation, was being held on Thursday 14th April and the film production company, Moli Films, asked Bailey if we could display the caravan outside the Odeon cinema on Tottenham Court Road in London and then move to outside the after party venue in Camden.
